Baku to take OSCE recommendations into account despite of criticism
BAKU. Oct 11 (Interfax) - The initial report of the observation mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on the presidential elections in Azerbaijan is biased, representative of the Azerbaijani presidential administration Ali Gasanov said.
"Of course, such irresponsible statements of OSCE officials strike directly at the organization's authority," Gasanov said on air of the Lider TV channel on Friday.
"We will continue relations with this agency in the future and will take into account the recommendations of this organization regarding our obligations. However, no one, including the OSCE whose member Azerbaijan is, can dictate their conditions. Azerbaijan is an independent state," Gasanov said.
The ODIHR/OSCE observation mission said on October 10 it criticized the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan on October 9.
