VTB Bank Kazakhstan swings to 186 mln tenge IFRS net profit in 9M

ASTANA. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The Kazakhstan-based subsidiary of Russia's VTB Bank posted 186 million tenge in net profit under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in January-September, against 773 million tenge loss in the same period of last year, the bank said in a statement.

VTB Kazakhstan's assets for the nine months increased by 26% to 121.29 billion tenge, and liabilities rose 31% to 103.993 billion tenge (153.7 tenge/$1 on October 14).

The loan portfolio increased by 26% to 101.875 billion tenge, customer accounts and deposits increased by 42% to 73.992 billion tenge, net interest income increased by 50% to 3.64 billion tenge and net fee and commission income increased 60% to 1.145 billion tenge.

VTB Kazakhstan ranks 20th by assets among 38 second-tier banks operating in Kazakhstan.
