Provocation against Russian diplomat in Netherlands indicates weakening of Russia's global standing - Zyuganov

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov believes that the recent incident involving a Russian diplomat in the Netherlands indicates the weakening of Russia's global standing.

"It indicates the weakening of our positions in the world," Zyuganov told a press conference held at the central office of Interfax on Monday.

Zyuganov linked the situation with the diplomat to the arrest of Greenpeace activists in the Pechora Sea near the oilrig Prirazlomnaya on September 19.

"It's a provocation, well-planned and organized," Zyuganov said, referring to the incident with the diplomat.
