Biryulyovo riots are result of bad policies - Zyuganov
MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov believes the riots in Western Biryulyovo are a consequence of bad policies and a tougher version of the riots that occurred in the Moscow's Manezh Square in May 2012.
"What you saw in Biryulyovo is a consequence of the bad financial, economic, and migration policies that have been pursued recently," Zyuganov told a press conference in the central office of Interfax on Monday.
"It's another version of [the riots in] Manezh [Square], but it occurred on the outskirts of Moscow in the roughest and most unacceptable forms," he said.
The riots that occurred in the Moscow district Western Biryulyovo on October 13 were triggered by the killing of a local resident. Some news media reported, citing a surveillance video, that the crime was perpetrated by a man with Central Asian or Caucasian origins.
