BasEl hires Nuance to set up duty free stores in Krasnodar airports

KRASNODAR. Oct 14 (Interfax) - LLC BasEl Aero, which is part of the Basic Element group, and Swiss duty free store operator Nuance plan to set up duty free stores at Sochi, Krasnodar, Anapa and Gelandzhik airports, all of which are part of BasEl Aero, the airport operator said in a press release.

An agreement on the stores, valid to 2028, is to be signed soon and will envisage stores for all airports in the group.

The stores will cover an area of 4,600 square meters and capacity is expected at 5.5 million per year.

Various mono-brand and multi-brand boutiques are to be set up in the next few years, including well known Nuance projects, such as: Atelier, Master of Time, Temptation, Travel Star, Sun Catcher, Spirit of.

BasEl Aero, founded in 2007, manages Basic Element's (BasEl) airport assets. It has been a joint venture between BasEl, Sberbank of Russia , and Changi Airports International (a 100% subsidiary of Singapore's Changi Airport Group) since June 2012. At the moment, BasEl Aero includes airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Anapa. Last year 5.5 million people used the company's airports. The airports serve over 7% of total passenger turnover and 1.5% of cargo turnover in Russia. Airport services were used by 5.5 million in 2012.

The Nuance Group manages 70,000 square meters of shop floor in 18 countries. The company also supplies in-flight duty free, wholesale and distribution services. It is headquartered in Zurich.
