Sobyanin urges caution in making decision on visa regime with CIS countries

MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Caution should be exercised in making a decision on the visa regime with CIS member countries, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, answering questions from Moscow City Duma deputies after he had presented his annual report.

"The visa regime is a question of complex international relations. We live within the Commonwealth of Independent States and have a colossal number of international agreements. Their abandonment will have severe economic consequences. Certainly, one has to be careful in taking such measures," Sobyanin said.

At the same time, he supported restrictive measures for those that break Russian migration laws.
