Kazakhstan's agricultural output up 5.5% in 9M
ASTANA. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's agricultural output grew 5.5% year-on-year in January-September to 1.67 trillion tenge, the State Statistics Agency said.
Meat and dairy output rose 1.5% to 782.4 billion tenge, and crop production was up 9.8% to 880.1 billion tenge (153.7 tenge /$1 on Oct 16).
Farmers had 6.325 million cattle, up 0.1% from 9M 2012, 2.8 million goats, down 6.9%, 1.2 million pigs, down 13.6%, 17.1 million sheep, down 1.9%, 1.8 million horses, up 3.4% and 35.8 million barnyard fowl, down 2.4%.
