Car production in Russia down 7.2% in Sept - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Russia produced 163,000 cars in September 2013, 7.2% less than in the same month last year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported.
Car production in September was up 6.7% from August.
Russia produced 18,500 trucks, including chassis, except dump trucks, up 3% year-on-year and 6.3% more than in August 2013.
Bus production fell 7.2% to 5,100 in September and was down 4.1% from August.
Car production fell 2.5% year-on-year in January-September to 1.4 million, truck production fell 5.5% to 145,000 and bus production fell 2.5% to 39,300.
Russia's main car producers are OJSC Avtovaz , the Sollers group, OJSC Avtoframos (Renault's plant in Moscow). The country's main truck-builders are OJSC Kamaz and the GAZ group.
