Aliyev: Azerbaijan to keep Armenia in isolated state

BAKU. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan will carry on the policy of Armenia's excluded from regional projects, Azeri President Elect Ilham Aliyev said during his inauguration ceremony on Saturday.

"We will further keep Armenia in an isolated state. We need to insert an even greater pressure with our political and regional initiatives, economic initiatives," Aliyev stressed.

"All the same, our diplomacy on this issue will further be consistent, because the truth, justice and international law are in our favor. I do not have any doubts that Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity," the president said.

"The experience of recent years shows that we are on the right way and Armenia is forced to openly admit that she is not able to provide for its own security. Essentially, it recognizes that it fears Azerbaijan, the strong Azerbaijani state, that it is powerless against Azerbaijan," he said.

"The settlement of the conflict, I want to say is a matter of priority. This matter must be solved completely. Any half-hearted version can be accepted only as a temporary option. Complete resolution of the conflict will, surely, happen and the Armenian occupying forces will be withdrawn from the occupied lands. At subsequent stages Azerbaijani people must return to Nagorno- Karabakh. The flag of Azerbaijan must be raised in Shusha and Khankandi and I am confident that it will be so," Aliyev said.
