Murmansk court turns down Swiss environmentalist's appeal
MURMANSK. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The regional court in the sea port of Murmansk on Monday upheld a lower court's ruling to keep Swiss environmentalist Marco Polo Weber in custody.
He will remain under arrest until November 24, Interfax was told in court.
Appeal hearings filed by Christopher Ian Rogers of the United Kingdom, who was among the Arctic Sunrise vessel's crewmembers during the protest on the Pechora Sea have been put off until Tuesday.
The regional court earlier ruled to keep Finnish citizen Sini Saarela and Polish culturologist Tomaz Dziemianczuk in custody. Similar rulings were earlier passed on complaints filed by 24 Greenpeace activists, crewmembers and journalists from the Arctic Sunrise vessel.
