Russian and Chinese premiers sign joint communique
BEIJING. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russia and China have signed a number of bilateral documents intended to further promote their relations.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang signed a joint communique addressing the results of the 18th regular meeting of the two countries' heads of government.
Apart from that, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Chinese Vice Premier Wan Yang signed the protocol of the 17th session of the two countries' commission in charge of laying the groundwork for the premiers' regular meetings.
Other documents signed in Beijing include a memorandum of mutual understanding between the Russian Education and Science Ministry and China's Education Ministry, which agreed to cooperate in establishing an association of specialized universities of the two countries, as well as a memorandum of mutual understanding between the Russian Economic Development Ministry, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the government of China's Heilongjiang as part of the Russian-Chinese EXPO exhibition.
Russian Communications and Mass Media Minister Nikolai Nikiforov and Chinese Industry and Information Technology Minister Miao Wei signed a memorandum of mutual understanding as part of measures to cut international mobile roaming charges between Russia and China.
The Russian Federal Customs Service and the Chinese General Administration of Customs also signed a number of customs regulation documents, including a protocol on mutual recognition of the results of customs control in relation to certain categories of commodities, as well as a memorandum of mutual understanding to crack down on violations of customs rules during deliveries by air.
