Potatoes found in bag left on a bus near Volgograd airport
VOLGOGRAD. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The suspicious bag found on a bus parked near the Volgograd airport building in southern Russia was filled with potatoes, an airport spokeswoman told Interfax.
"Potatoes were found inside the suspicious abandoned bag because of which we were put on high alert," she said.
Airport staff and all of the passengers were evacuated as part of security measures, she said.
"The airport has already resumed normal operations," the spokeswoman said.
Volgograd was put on a "yellow" (elevated) terror alert after a female suicide bomber detonated an explosive device on a bus in the city on October 21, killing six people and injuring another 36.
