Agriculture Minister unable to comment on Onishchenko's possible resignation
POGORELOVKA, Belgorod region. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov and chief of the veterinary and phytosanitary oversight service (Rosselkhoznadzor) Sergei Dankvert were unable to comment on Rospotrebnadzor chief Gennady Onishchenko's possible departure from his post.
"It's difficult to provide comments on Onishchenko's possible departure," Fyodorov told journalists in Belgorod on Tuesday.
He said that he learned the news during the Agriculture Ministry senior officials' current meeting in the Belgorod region and added that Onishchenko played a great role in Rospotrebnadzor's development.
Dankvert did not elaborate, either.
"I can only say that I have worked with Gennady Grigoryevich [Onishchenko] since 2000 and I have always admired his refined manner of speaking. He was an impressive person and he always found words that would amaze you," he said.
