Temirbank swings to 9M net loss of over 4 bln tenge

ALMATY. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan-based JSC Temirbank has reported a net loss of 4.139 billion tenge (153.78/$1) for January-September 2013 compared to a net profit of 2.396 billion tenge for the same period last year, according to the bank's unaudited IFRS financial statements.

During the nine months of this year, the bank's assets grew 2.6% to 294.571 billion tenge, liabilities grew 5.1% to 238.317 billion tenge, equity capital declined 6.9% to 56.254 billion tenge, and charter capital went unchanged at 59.547 billion tenge.

The major shareholder of Temirbank is the national welfare fund Samruk-Kazyna with a stake of 79.89%.

For January-June 2013, the State Financial Supervision Committee of the National Bank of Kazakhstan ranked Temirbank 14th by assets among the 38 second-tier banks operating in Kazakhstan.
