Govt to choose what projects will get Nat'l Welfare Fund monies

KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The Russian government will soon decide what projects will be financed with National Welfare Fund monies, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.

Taking questions from the press in the context of a meeting in Komsomolsk-on-Amur of the governmental commission for Far East socioeconomic development, Siluanov was asked on what terms the Fund's money would be used to buy the preferred stock in OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) . He said that those terms would be settled after the government makes its decision on projects.

"The terms are being determined. First the government has to decide on a selection of projects to be financed [with] funds from the National Welfare Fund. We will literally be doing this in the near future. After that, we'll begin to work," Siluanov told reporters.
