Georgian presidential election transparent, constructive - European monitors

TBILISI. Oct 28 (Interfax) - The Georgian presidential election was transparent and held in a constructive atmosphere, European election observers said.

"The 27 October presidential election in Georgia was efficiently administered, transparent and took place in an amicable and constructive environment," says a report of the European election observation mission comprised of members of the OSCE/ODIHR, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the European Parliament.

"Fundamental freedoms of expression, movement and assembly were respected, and candidates were able to campaign without restriction," the report said.
