TGK-1 generates 1.2% more power in 9M

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Generating company OJSC TGK-1 produced 21.9 billion kWh of electricity in January-September, 1.2% more year-on-year, a company statement says.

Thermal energy output amounted to 17.4 million gCal for the period, 1.5% down.

These figures take production at OJSC Murmansk combined heat and power plant (CHPP) .

TGK-1's CHPPs increased output thanks to a 7.2% year-on-year increase in generation by steam-gas units to 12.429 billion kWh.

The genco's hydroelectric power stations produced 9.443 billion kWh of power in January-September, down 5.8%. The genco attributes this decrease to low water levels in the third quarter.

TGK-1 manages 55 power plants in St. Petersburg, Karelia, and the Leningrad and Murmansk regions. Its installed electrical capacity is 7.024 GW, and its heat capacity is 14,235 Gcal/h. Gazprom controls TGK-1, and 25.66% of its shares belong to Finnish concern Fortum Power & Heat Oy.
