OGK-2 reduces electricity output 6.5% in 9M; heat production up 9.7%
MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - OGK-2 reduced electricity output 6.5% to 56.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in the first nine months of 2013, the wholesale generating company said in a press release.
The decline reflects OGK-2's efforts to reduce output at its least efficient plants.
Production of heat rose 9.67% to 4.6 million Gcal.
Capacity utilization in the nine months declined 2.9 percentage points to 44.6%.
OGK-2 has 18.0 gigawatts of installed capacity or about 7% of the Russian total. It controls the Adler heat and electricity station and the Serov, Troitsk, Stavropol, Pskov, Ryazan, Novocherkassk, Kirishi, Cherepovets, Krasnoyarsk-2 and Surgut-1 State District Power Plants (GRES).
The genco operates as part of LLC Gazprom Energoholding (GEH), which controls Gazprom's electricity assets.
