Uzbek banking sector assets grow 10.4% in 9M

TASHKENT. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan's commercial banks raised assets 10.4% to 39.4 trillion sum in January-September 2013, a source from Uzbek government circles told Interfax.

The combined loan portfolio for the real sector 11.3% to 22.7 trillion sum. Total equity grew 3.2% to 6.4 trillion sum (2,173.94 sum/$1 on Oct. 30).

Deposits during the nine months grew 1.8% to 23.2 trillion sum.

Uzbekistan has 29 commercial banks, including three state-owned banks, four banks with foreign capital, 13 joint-stock commercial and nine private banks.

In 2012, Uzbekistan's bank assets grew 30.2% to 35.7 trillion sum.
