Moscow, Bishkek update scale of military assistance to Kyrgyzstan - defense minister
BISHKEK. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Russian arms deliveries to Kyrgyzstan will begin in 2014, Kyrgyz Defense Minister Taalaybek Omuraliev told Interfax on Friday.
"I can tell you exactly that Russian arms deliveries will start in 2014 within the framework of military technological cooperation [programs]," he said.
The sides are negotiating the types of armaments and the amounts and costs of the deliveries, the minister continued.
He also said that Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed about a dozen of military technological cooperation agreements in 2013.
