Snowden may give up "temporary refugee" status if leaves Russia - Kucherena

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Former NSA analyst Edward Snowden may lose his status of a "temporary refugee" if he leaves the territory of Russia, lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said.

"Edward Snowden is in Russia as a temporary refugee he may lose this status of he leaves the territory of the Russian Federation. If some countries have questions for Snowden, they can send them to him," Kucherena told reporters.

German parliamentarian Hans-Christian Stroebele said earlier that Edward Snowden was prepared to testify before the German Prosecutor General's Office in the case of U.S. intelligence services' tapping of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's phone.
