Ukrainian PM Azarov does not expect prices to grow after Ukraine signs association agreement with EU
KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The prices for goods in Ukraine will not grow after it signs an association agreement with the European Union, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
"I can tell you with certainty that prices are determined by a lot of factors, among which are, in particular, customs duties. After the agreement is signed and the free trade provision takes effect, the level of customs duties on imports of goods from the EU will decrease significantly. And this will mean that the prices will also have to decrease. This concerns goods coming from EU countries," Azarov said on Facebook on Friday.
"As concerns other goods, the agreement's influence on prices will be indirect. But nevertheless, those prices should not grow either," he added.
