CIS observers don't register any violations in Tajik presidential elections
DUSHANBE. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The CIS election monitoring mission working in the presidential elections in Tajikistan has not received any complaints and has not found any violations in the presidential elections, which have been ongoing for more than six hours how, Yevgeny Sloboda, deputy head of the mission, told reporters on Wednesday.
"Our headquarters has not received any complaints from the presidential candidates or voters," Sloboda said.
The CIS observer mission in Tajikistan is comprised of 15 long-term election monitors and 194 short-term election monitors. There are 221 Western observers (178 from the OSCE, 34 from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and nine from the European Parliament).
CIS observers traditionally give positive marks to Tajik elections, whereas their colleagues from the OSCE and the European Parliament have not yet recognized any of the elections held in the republic as meeting the international democratic standards.
