Two foreign ships held off Sakhalin

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. Nov 6 (Interfax) - Russian border guards have detained two vessels flying Cambodian flags with Russian crews off the Sakhalin coast, the press service of Sakhalin coast guards reported.

"Two vessels, Tron and Opus, both flying the Cambodian flag, homeport Phnom Penh, were stopped and searched in Russia's exclusive economic zone," the press service reported.

Both vessels entered the Russian sea without registering at border checkpoints, it said.

The two ships were taken to the Sakhalin port of Korsakov for investigation.
