Iranian foreign minister: agreement with P5+1 may be concluded this week
GENEVA. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Iran may conclude an agreement concerning its nuclear program with the P5+1 group later this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif told reporters in Geneva.
He said they were expecting serious negotiations and that there was such an opportunity.
The agreement can be reached if everyone does their utmost to contribute to the meeting, the Iranian minister stressed. Zarif said earlier this week he was optimistic about the upcoming negotiations.
A new round of negotiations between the P5+1 group (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) and Iran will be held in Geneva on November 7-8.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton represents the P5+1 group at the negotiations. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov attends the round on behalf of Russia. Foreign Minister Zarif represents Iran.
