Moscow, Hanoi to discuss opening of sustainment center in Vinh Cam Ranh - source
MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Vietnam may agree in the near future to opening a Russian Navy sustainment center in the port of Vinh Cam Ranh, a military diplomatic source told Interfax-AVN on Monday.
"The opening of a sustainment center in Cam Ranh for supplies of our ships will become one of the subjects that will be discussed over the course of Russian-Vietnamese talks in Hanoi," the source said.
Vinh Cam Ranh could become the friendly port that Russian naval ships could lawfully call on en route from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Aden and back for replenishing stocks and restoring technical readiness.
