Russian ports handle 3.7% more cargo in 10M
MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russian ports handled 488.7 million tonnes of cargo in January-September, up 3.7% year-on-year, the Association of Commercial Seaports (ASOP) said.
Dry cargo handling was level with a year previously at 211.4 million tonnes, including 84.8 million tonnes of coal, up 14.9%, 36.9 million tonnes of container cargo (+4%), 10.6 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (+19.5%), 6.3 million tonnes of ores (+3.7%), 18.3 million tonnes of ferrous metals (down 17.5%), 13.4 million tonnes of grain (-28.6%) and 3.7 million tonnes of forest products (-27.5%).
Tanker cargo grew 6.6% to 277.3 million tonnes, with an increase of 5.3% to 173 million tonnes of crude oil.
Ports handled 381.7 million tonnes of export freight, up 2.5% year-on-year, 38.5 million tonnes of import freight, up 3%, 38.8 million tonnes of transit freight, up 9.1%, and 29.7 million tonnes of coastal freight, up 14.5%.
