Putin expects his visit to boost Russia-Vietnam relations
HANOI. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the negotiations he had with the Vietnamese president and prime minister in Hanoi on Tuesday as useful and highly successful.
"We have had remarkably substantive, useful and successful negotiations with the president and the prime minister of Vietnam," the Russian president told Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.
Russia and Vietnam enjoy lasting friendship and close cooperation, he said. "Vietnam is not just a strategic partner of ours; it is also a primary partner in the Asia Pacific region," the Russian president stressed.
He said he expected that his visit would give a boost to bilateral relations.
Trong said that the Russian president visited Hanoi in a favorable atmosphere of bilateral relations. He also said that he was confident that the visit would bolster cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
