State prosecutor demands life sentence for Kushchyovskaya massacre suspect
KRASNODAR. Nov 14 (Interfax) - State Prosecutor Viktor Antipov has asked a court in Russia's southern Krasnodar Territory to give a life sentence to Sergei Tsapok, who was found guilty by a jury of committing a number of grave crimes, including the murder of 12 people in the village of Kushchyovskaya in November 2010, an Interfax correspondent reported.
Apart from that, Antipov demanded life sentences for members of Tsapok's gang Vladimir Alexeyev and Igor Chernykh, and 25-year prison terms for Vladimir Zaporozhets, Vyacheslav Tsepovyaz and Nikolai Tsapok.
On November 8, a jury at the Krasnodar Territorial Court found Sergei Tsapok and the other members of the Tsapok criminal group guilty of committing a series of grave crimes, including the killing of 12 people in the village of Kushchyovskaya in November 2010.
The jury found Sergei Tsapok, his uncle Nikolai Tsapok, as well as Vyacheslav Tsepovyaz, Vladimir Alexeyev, Igor Chernykh and Vladimir Zaporozhets guilty on all counts brought against each of them - membership in a criminal group, murders, attempted murders, assault, illegal confinement, deliberate destruction and damage of property, rape and illegal possession of weapons.
