Former central banker named adviser to Rosneft president
MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax) - A former first deputy chairman of Russia's Central Bank, Gennady Melikian has become an adviser to the president of state oil major Rosneft , Igor Sechin.
The appointment was made this year, according to the quarterly report of state bank VTB , where Melikian serves on the supervisory board.
A Rosneft representative told Interfax that Melikyan advised the company chief on the optimization of financial assets.
Melikian has in the past held the position of labor minister and deputy CEO at national savings bank Sberbank . At the Central Bank, he was responsible for bank oversight. Melikian also serves on the board of directors of the Avtotor group.
