Belarus and Russia foreign ministers to discuss bilateral cooperation
MINSK. Nov 15 (Interfax) - The foreign ministers of Belarus and Russia, Vladimir Makei and Sergei Lavrov, will hold a meeting on the sidelines of a joint session of the boards of the two countries' Foreign Ministries.
"Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei will pay a working visit to Moscow on November 19 to attend a joint session of the boards of the Belarusian and Russian Foreign Ministries," a Belarus Foreign Ministry spokesman told Interfax.
"Arrangements have already been made for Makei's meeting with Foreign Minister of Russia S. Lavrov, at which the sides plan to discuss key issues concerning Belarusian-Russian cooperation and exchange opinions on international topics of mutual interest," the spokesman said.
The November 19 session will also be used to sum up the results of implementing the 2012-2013 action plan as part of the Russia-Belarus Union's foreign policy.
A similar draft action plan for 2014-2015 will also be discussed before being submitted to the Russia-Belarus Union's Supreme State Council.
Other topics on the session's agenda include the Foreign Ministries' support of Eurasian integration processes and cooperation in defending the interests of Belarusian and Russian citizens and legal entities in third countries.
Makei and Lavrov are also expected to sign a plan for consultations between the two countries' Foreign Ministries for 2014.
