Russia puts off launching two weather satellites

MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Weather satellites Elektro-L No. 2 and Meteor-M No. 2 that Russia planned to launch this year will go into space in 2014, an adviser to the head of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) said on Friday, explaining that the postponement had "objective reasons" for it.

"Some of the reasons have to do with the electronic component base," Valery Zaichko told Interfax-AVN during a meeting on Friday at the Earth monitoring center that is part of the Russian Space Systems company.

"In regards to the other [satellites], everything will go according to the plans written down in the Federal Space Program," he said.
