44 killed in air crash in Kazan - emergencies ministry

KAZAN. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Forty-four people were killed when a Boeing passenger liner crashed on landing near the Kazan international airport, the Tatarstan Emergency Situations Ministry's spokesman Andrei Rodygin told Interfax.

The plane was flying from Moscow.

The crash was reported at 7:20 p.m., Moscow time. It is under investigation, he said.
