Car production in Russia down 2.3% in 10M - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Russia produced 1.6 million cars in January-October 2013, 2.3% less than in the same period last year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Car production in October was down 0.7% from October last year and was 12.8% higher than in September this year.
Russia produced 168,000 trucks in January-October, down 2.8% year-on-year; and 43,200 buses, 6% less. Truck production grew 17.2% year-on-year in October and was 25.9% higher than in September. Bus production fell 31.2% year-on-year in October.
Russia's main car producers are OJSC Avtovaz , the Sollers group, OJSC Avtoframos (Renault's plant in Moscow). The country's main truck-builders are OJSC Kamaz and the GAZ group.
