Property worth about 5 bln rubles returned to Defense Ministry in Oboronservice probe - Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Property worth about 5 billion rubles has been returned to the Russian Defense Ministry during the investigation of embezzlement in Oboronservice, the press office of the Russian Investigative Committee's Main military Investigative Department said.

"During the preliminary investigation, despite the statements of [former Defense Ministry's property department head Yevgenia] Vasilyeva and her defense on the alleged legality of all deals being contested, various commercial entities, which bought the property of Oboronservice under understated prices, have fully returned the shares of the 31st State Special Construction Institute and land and non-residential building worth a total of about 5 billion rubles to the military agency," the press office said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Monday.

The estate is in particular in Moscow region's Arkhangelskoye village and in Moscow - at 19, Smolensky Boulevard buildings 1, 6 and 11; 30, Kosygina Street; and 30, Bolshoi Predtechensky Lane, the statement said.
