Great-grandson of pre-Revolutionary Duma chairman heads AmCham in Russia

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Alexis Rodzianko has been elected as the new President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham).

The Chamber said its board of directors unanimously supported Rodzianko for president at its meeting on Monday.

Andrew Sommers, who had been the AmCham President since 2000, announced his pending resignation in March 2013. He took a job with the Teneo Holdings consulting company.

Alexis Rodzianko was born in 1951. He is a great-grandson of Mikhail Rodzianko, the leader of the Octobrist party and chairman of the Third and Fourth State Dumas in pre-revolutionary Russia. Alexis Rodzianko worked for Chemical Bank in New York and moved to Moscow in 1995. He has held senior positions at IFC Metropol, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan.
