Man jailed for 20 years in Kazakhstan for setting up terrorist group
ATYRAU. Nov 19 (Interfax) - A court in the Atyrau region, Kazakhstan, has convicted a 26-year-old local resident of committing a series of grave crimes, including terrorism, from 2009 to 2013 and has sentenced him to 20 years in a high-security prison, the court said in a press release.
The court also ordered the confiscation of his property
The man was found guilty of establishing and leading a terrorist group, funding extremist and terrorist activities, staging an explosion and arson and committed other dangerous crimes with the use of weapons, explosives and explosive devices.
The trial was held behind closed doors.
