Prosecutor General's Office holds unscheduled inspection of Tatarstan airline, whose jet crashed in Kazan
MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has started the unscheduled inspection of Tatarstan airlines, the agency posted a statement on its website on Wednesday.
"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office and transport prosecutors are holding an unscheduled inspection on the compliance with the law in ensuring flight safety," the statement said.
Upon the order of Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, "a trip of a committee of the Prosecutor General's Office to Kazan has been organized in order to assess the legality and completeness of control and observation measures held by state authorities regarding the Tatarstan airline, which operated the Boeing 737 jet, which crashed at the Kazan airport, as well as the legality of issuing certificates to flight crews of the airline," the document said.
