Russian Defense Ministry denies Estonia's airspace trespass claim

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry has denied Estonian military officials' reports claiming that a Russian Tupolev Tu-134 military transport airplane illegally entered Estonia's airspace.

"According to our objective monitoring data, this aircraft did not trespass into Estonia's airspace. The flight was taking place over neutral waters of the Gulf of Finland in strict compliance with a previously set itinerary," the ministry said in a press release seen by Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

The press service of the Estonian Defense Forces announced earlier that a Russian Air Force plane had illegally entered Estonia's airspace at 11:26 p.m. local time on Tuesday (01:16 a.m. Moscow time on Wednesday).
