Head of State Resources Commission steps down

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Yury Podturkin has departed his post as the general director of Russia's State Resources Commission, a commission statement says.

He was let go from the post on Wednesday by order of the chief of the federal agency for resource usage. Valentin Voropayev is acting in his stead.

A representative of the commission declined to comment on the reason for Podturkin's departure, but did say it had been planned.
