Ashton-Zarif meeting continues in Geneva, full-scale talks yet to begin

GENEVA. Nov 21 (Interfax) - P5+1 group political directors and Iran have not started full-scale negotiations in Geneva in spite of expectations, an Interfax correspondent reports.

The plenary meeting was held on Wednesday and it lasted for no more than ten minutes. Mostly, contacts are being maintained between EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.

They dined together on Wednesday and held the first meeting on Thursday morning. Their second meeting is in progress.

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif have resumed substantive and detailed negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program in Geneva; further advancement is expected, Ashton's spokesman Michale Mann wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, an Iranian source told Interfax earlier about numerous disagreements between Iran and the P5+1 group and the lack of mutual trust. In addition, the sides have different ideas about the lift of sanctions against Iran.
