Uncertainty remains over P5+1 foreign ministers' arrival in Geneva - spokesman
GENEVA. Nov 22 (Interfax) - The European delegation's spokesman Michael Mann believes that negotiations between the P5+1 (the UN Security Council's five permanent members plus Germany) and Iranian officials are unlikely to switch to a ministerial format.
EU Foreign Policy Chief Baroness Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif are expected to meet over breakfast at 9:00 a.m. local time on Friday, he said.
It has been announced that several rooms at Geneva's 5-star hotel InterContinental have been booked for Saturday night for high-ranking diplomats.
It was reported earlier that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was prepared to arrive in Geneva, should such a need arise.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, for his part, said earlier this week that he planned to meet with Kerry within the next few days. The venue and time of this meeting have not been announced officially.
