Police looking into three possible causes for Riga roof collapse
RIGA. Nov 22 (Interfax/BNS) - Police are investigating three possible causes behind the collapse of a supermarket's roof in Riga's Zolitude neighborhood, state police chief Ints Kuzis told reporters on Friday.
"One of the theories is connected with the building's design and construction oversight practices, the second one is linked with the building itself, and the third one is connected with the storage of construction materials on the roof," he said.
Police may ask foreign experts to help investigate the accident.
The death toll from the collapse of the Maxima supermarket's roof currently stands at 26, Latvian media reported.
