Embassy does not rule out Russian military specialists may be working in Yemen under private contracts

MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Russian Embassy in Sanaa does not rule out the possibility that Russian military specialists may still be working in Yemen although military cooperation between Russia and Yemen has been suspended.

"It is difficult to say [whether or not Russian military specialists may be present in Yemen] because, although our military cooperation has been put on hold, people may have gone there under private contracts," an embassy spokesman told Interfax.

"But it is impossible to say for certain [whether or not Russian military specialists are currently working in Yemen]," he said.

Several media outlets reported earlier that presumably a Russian citizen was killed and another three were injured by gunfire in Sanaa.

Other reports claim that two Russian military specialists were shot dead in Sanaa.
