Belarusian Foreign Ministry verifies report of attack on its citizens in Yemen
MINSK. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Foreign Ministry is verifying reports that two Belarusian citizens allegedly came under fire in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, resulting in the death of one of them.
"We are currently verifying this information and establishing the circumstances of the events," Belarusian ministry spokesperson Maria Vanshina told Interfax.
According to the Russian Embassy in Yemen, two Belarusian citizens were attacked in Sanaa on Tuesday. One of them was killed and the other one was injured, the Russian Embassy said.
Local media outlets reported earlier that the people attacked in Sanaa were citizens of Russia.
Yemeni Interior Ministry spokesman Mohammed al-Maori, for his part, said that the foreigners attacked in Sanaa are military specialists working for the country's Defense Ministry.
