Russian children's goods market to grow 10.9% in 2013

MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The market of goods for children will grown 10.9% in 2013 to 485 billion rubles, Detskiy mir Group CEO Vladimir Chirakhov said at a press conference Tuesday.

The market will expand 9.9% on 2013 in 2014 to 533.1 billion rubles and 9.1% in 2015 to 5581.8 billion rubles, he projects.

The market climbed 10.5% in 2012 to 437.3 billion, Chikharov said.

Clothes are the fastest growing segment of the market: the share of which is going to climb 32.6% (158.1 billion rubles) in 2013 from 31%. The newborn goods share will remain at 22.1% (107.2 billion rubles).

Toys will see their share drop to 24.2% (117.4 billion rubles) from 25.1%. Children's footwear will drop to 9.1% (44.1 billion rubles) from 9.3%, Chikharov projects.

Detskiy mir forecasts that clothes will increase their share of the market to 34.6% in 2015, while toys will go down to 23.1%, the share of newborn goods will increase to 22.2% and the share of footwear will go down to 8.9%.
