Rosneft, Enel ink international upstream cooperation memorandum

TRIESTE. Nov 26 (Interfax) - Russian oil major Rosneft and Enel have signed a memorandum of mutual understanding regarding the development of cooperation in international prospecting for and production of hydrocarbons, an Interfax correspondent reported from the signing ceremony.

The document was inked by Rosneft President Igor Sechin and Enel General director Fulvio Conti.

An Enel statement says the memorandum stipulates that the parties will study the possibility of working together in the field of prospecting, producing, and transporting hydrocarbons outside of Russia. They will be studying the possibility of working together in South America, Southern Europe, and North Africa.

The companies agreed to set up a joint working group in their representatives will be exchanging information on potential areas for cooperation.
