Lavrov: Geneva II preconditions aim to obstruct or disrupt conference
MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - The setting of preconditions for the Geneva II international peace conference for Syria aims at hindering or even disrupting that conference, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Conditions will never be ideal. Some say we should wait until a certain military balance is attained on [that] territory or until any external assistance to any side ceases or until President al-Assad sets the date of his resignation and some other set of preconditions. All of this is being done with the unseemly purpose of hindering or even obstructing the conference," Lavrov told a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
