Kemerovo, Belarusian companies to build dairy plant
KEMEROVO. Nov 27 (Interfax) - CJSC Siberian Business Union (SBU) in Kemerovo and Belarusian company LLC Traipl have signed a protocol of intent to build a dairy plant with 60 tonne daily capacity in Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region.
The plant will produce a wide range of products, including cheese, yoghurt and baby food, said Kemerovo Regional Governor Aman Tuleev during the signing of a cooperation program between Kemerovo region and Belarus for 2014-2015.
SBU President Mikhail Fedyaev told Interfax the plant will cost around 500 million rubles.
Belarus and Kemerovo region also plan to build a meat processing plant, Tuleev said, without giving any details about capacity or investment.
A breeding center is to be set up at the Vaganovo livestock complex, which is part of the Siberian Business Union. The governor said Vaganovo gets around 7.5 tonnes of milk per year from one cow, but the new center hopes to achieve 12 tonnes per year.
SBU is to work on the breeding center project with Belarusian company ZhodinoAgroPlemElita.
Belarusian Natural Resources Minister Vladimir Tsalko told the press that Belarus had joint production projects in various Russian regions, but there are still no milk and meat production plants in Russia.
The cooperation program also envisages work with Belarusian plant Belcommunmash, in line with which 20 trams will be produced in 2014 at assembly lines in Kemerovo and Prokopyevsk. Capacity at the Minsk Automobile Plant service center set up in Prokopyevsk in 2012 is to be boosted from 120 vehicles per year to 500.
SBU was established in August 2004. Its assets are managed through industrial holdings - SBU-Coal, SBU-Engineering, Novotrans, SBU-Construction, SBU-Alco, SBU-Mediaholding, and SBU-Energy. According to the SPARK-Interfax database, Mikhail Fedyayev is a major shareholder with a 33.3% stake.
