Serdyukov summoned for questioning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday - lawyer

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The legal team of Russia's former Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov has not yet received notification that a criminal inquiry was opened against Serdyukov, but has been informed that the ex-minister was summoned for questioning as a witness in this case.

"My colleague Genrikh Padva has received a subpoena that [Serdyukov] should appear for questioning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. However, we will ask the Investigative Committee to reschedule his questioning for next Tuesday because lawyer Padva is currently engaged in a trial at the Moscow City Court," Serdyukov's lawyer Konstantin Rivkin told Interfax on Thursday.

Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax earlier that a criminal investigation had been opened against Serdyukov on the counts of negligence.
